2025 Ford Explorer

The 2025 Ford Explorer is available in four trims: Active, ST-Line, ST, and Platinum. The Active trim comes equipped with 18-inch Sparkle Silver-painted aluminum wheels, all-season tires, and a black mesh grille with chrome accents. The ST-Line features 20-inch machined aluminum wheels with high-gloss black pockets and sport-styled bumpers with gloss black accents. The performance-focused ST trim includes 21-inch aluminum wheels with performance tires and adds quad exhaust tips with an active valve performance exhaust system. The top-tier Platinum trim features a satin aluminum finish grille and 20-inch bright-machined aluminum wheels with premium paint. LED headlamps and taillamps are standard across all trims.

The Active, ST-Line, and Platinum trims are powered by a 2.3-liter EcoBoost I-4 engine generating 300 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. This engine delivers fuel efficiency ratings of 21 mpg city and 28 mpg highway with rear-wheel drive, or 20 mpg city and 27 mpg highway with four-wheel drive. The ST trim features a powerful 3.0-liter EcoBoost V-6 engine producing 400 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque. All engines pair with a 10-speed automatic transmission. The fuel tank capacity for models with the 2.3-liter EcoBoost I-4 engine ranges from 17.9 gallons in the Active and ST-Line trims to 20.2 gallons in the Platinum.

The Explorer's Intelligent 4WD system with Terrain Management System offers six selectable drive modes: Normal, Eco, Sport, Tow/Haul, Slippery, and Trail, with Deep Snow/Sand mode for 4WD models. The ST trim enhances driving dynamics through its sport-tuned suspension and SelectShift paddle shifters. When properly equipped, the Explorer can tow up to 5,600 pounds, and all trims include a standard Class III Trailer Tow Package.

A 13.2-inch touchscreen display with SYNC 4A technology and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster are standard across all trims. The Ford Co-Pilot360 technology suite comes standard on all Explorer trims, incorporating pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking and blind-spot information system with cross-traffic alert. The lane-keeping system with lane-centering helps maintain proper vehicle positioning. All trims add adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality.
